From the elaborate borders, edged in a fine \u003cem\u003ecaseado bastido\u003c\/em\u003e finish, to the center panel, heavily worked in \u003cem\u003earrendado\u003c\/em\u003e and transformed into a delicate, lace-like openwork mesh, the range of handwork is astonishing. Virtually every inch of linen has been embellished in some way. An astounding display of Madeira artistry and skill. We cannot even guess how many months this took to create.
