The most exuberant tablecloth we have ever seen! This will always make you happy.
Spectacular, over-the-top vintage French tablecloth and 8 napkins, circa 1950, all hand embroidered in beauvais stitch. The theme is wildflowers and garden flowers - "fleurs de champs" & "fleurs de ville". Those names are embroidered in script along the border of the cloth, and the flowers themselves are everywhere. The top features two massive bouquets, one of each variety, with smaller bouquets at every corner. A dense, vibrant spray at each side, little daisies along the green border, and two butterflies on top. This is even more gorgeous in person.

The tablecloth is in very good condition, not quite perfect. Hand laundered, bright and clean. We note a couple pinholes and tiny worn spots, a few small oil-type stains, some rust specks, and some wear on the small outer green border, including missing stitches here and there, and worn areas. The 8 napkins are slightly shabbier than the tablecloth. Last photo shows examples.
Easy to forgive some flaws. This is utterly unique, and absolutely magnificent. Presents beautifully.66 x 88 inches.
