Dramatic, beautiful and 21 feet long – this lace tablecloth is amazing.
Vintage Italian tablecloth, c1920, composed entirely of handmade Cantu lace.
Color is light ecru. Photographs were taken over a dark cloth to better show the design. It's so huge we couldn't display it all! Look for birds, cherubs, dogs, deer, and cornucopias of flowers. Graceful and gorgeous.
Excellent condition, we believe this was never used. Carefully laundered, clean and bright.
A few small sections are white, not ecru – these sections of lace were originally made with a lighter colored thread that became brighter than the rest after cleaning, as happens occasionally with old lace. We tried to gather all the lighter sections together in the 7th photo, with the last two photos showing the contrast when placed over dark wood (a little hard to see in the pictures). Minor, and easily forgiven on this rare and spectacular tablecloth.
