A rare collection of vintage Point de Beauvais embroidered table linens from France. You won’t find a collection like this anywhere else.
Point de Beauvais is perhaps the most beautiful of hand embroideries, a form of tambour embroidery worked in delicate chain stitches using a tiny hook on an embroidery frame. The stitch itself is the difference. Chain stitch embroidery exists across many traditions, but the precision and quality of the French work are in a category of their own.
In the best examples, the stitching is exceptionally tight, with colored threads layered to create subtle shading and depth, giving the embroidery a fluid quality — like paintings on linen. Art for the table.
Because of its extraordinary craftsmanship and rarity, Point de Beauvais embroidery is increasingly difficult to find. This collection is limited. Only a handful of pieces remain.
