A glorious garden of pink flowers and butterflies.
Soft pink florals embroidered in Italy in Baroness Rapisardi’s signature punto stuoia stitch. A delicate trembler butterfly accents each placemat, adding subtle movement to the design. The embroidery is beautifully worked on lightweight, semi-sheer linen. Every placemat and matching napkin features a different flower, from sprays of lily of the valley to full peonies and clustered blossoms. An abundant garden in needle and thread, brought to the table.
The runner is embroidered with the date April 22, 1966. Other pieces from this estate were similarly dated, likely marking a wedding commission.
Rare to find this pattern in pink, and especially rare as a complete service.
Gently used, overall excellent condition. Hand laundered, clean and bright, with light patina, very slight shade variations, and a few small specks or smudges. Presents beautifully.
