Charming botanical alphabet sampler with embroidered flowers and plants arranged from A to Z, with occasional insects making a show. Worked in colorful hand embroidery on linen, the design brought to life in bright thread. Absolutely captivating.
Originally framed, now removed from its mount.
Condition is excellent. Hand laundered, bright and clean. The edges show wear and some staining from previous framing.
The central embroidered panel measures 15 x 22½ inches.
The full piece measures 19 x 26 inches.
Signed and dated in the lower corner, Elaine ’72. The original Paragon transfer pattern can be seen printed along the lower left edge. Beautiful work, Elaine!
