Vintage Madeira placemat set with blue flowers and scrolling motifs in classic shadow work, hand embroidered on sheer organdy. Airy and delicate, yet richly complex.
In shadow work, the design is built from the underside, softening the motifs through the fabric above. Additionally, the whole set is edged in caseado bastido scalloping, a hallmark of the finest Madeira workmanship. A gossamer work of art for your table, finished beautifully.
The napkins are linen, a deep, warm ecru, with an embellished organdy corner.
Condition is excellent, never used. Hand laundered, clean and bright.
