Vintage Madeira placemat set with blue flowers and scrolling motifs in classic shadow work, beautifully hand embroidered on sheer organdy.
The design is built from beneath: stitching worked on the underside creates a subtly raised surface, softening and muting the color through the fabric above. Edged in caseado bastido scalloping, a hallmark of the finest Madeira workmanship.
Linen napkins are a deep, warm ecru, each finished with an embellished organdy corner.
Condition is excellent, never used. Hand laundered, clean and bright.
