Vintage Marghab organdy pillow cover in the iconic “Deer” pattern, hand embroidered in Madeira.
In this famous scene, designed by Theo Marghab, a graceful deer pauses in an embroidered landscape of grasses and tiny flowers, gazing upward toward a crescent moon. Its body is spotted with dainty hand-worked eyelets, and the ground is densely stitched. A border of leaf and scroll motifs frames the whole.
Condition is very good, gently used. Hand laundered, clean and bright. We note a couple of small holes in the back (see last photo). The front looks quite lovely.
