Marghab’s iconic “Deer” pattern.
A graceful deer pauses in an embroidered landscape of grasses and tiny flowers, gazing upward toward a crescent moon in the distant sky. Detailed, lush and dreamy.
Designed by Theo Marghab and embroidered entirely by hand in Madeira. Worked on delicate Margandie, Marghab’s signature organdy.
Marghab linens were produced during the golden age of Madeira embroidery in the mid-twentieth century, when generations of embroiderers had reached an extraordinary level of technical skill.
The organdy itself is a light gray, closer to the color of the second image, and we’ve photographed the rest of the set over white to better show the design detail.
Condition is excellent, gently used. Hand laundered, clean and bright. A few loose threads at the edges and a couple of pulls to the organdy, all minor.
