Vintage Lily of the Valley placemat set, hand embroidered in Madeira. Sheer organdy with repliqué edges and fine shadow work, white blossoms with bright yellow centers cascading along soft green stems.
A graceful and generous design, and a rare find in a complete setting for twelve, including coasters and runner.
Very good condition, gently used. Hand laundered, bright and clean. One placemat has a few tiny pinholes, another a faint whitish mark. A small seam separation on the runner is hard to find. A few pieces show slight shade differences, likely from varying use. Easy to forgive — this set looks marvelous.
