Vintage Marghab placemat set in the “Old France” pattern. Pyramids of dainty fleur-de-lis rise from the corners of each placemat, with larger motifs decorating the border. Hand embroidered in Madeira.
The napkins are unusually elaborate: rather than the customary single embellished corner and plainer hem, these repeat the dainty motifs in the corner and carry the dense scalloped fleur-de-lis all the way around. Marghab hems are famously fine, but this one is particularly lavish—something rarely seen.
Excellent condition, never used. Hand laundered, bright and clean.
