Charming vintage Baroness Rapisardi placemats, in the style of her regional costume designs, hand embroidered in Italy on fine semi-sheer linen. A woman in colorful traditional dress stands beside an old stone well, surrounded by a stylized Italian landscape. Worked in Rapisardi’s distinctive punto stuoia embroidery, with rich color and wonderful dimension.
A lovely little portrait of rural Italy.
Condition is excellent, gently used. Hand laundered, clean and bright. We note a slight antique patina to the linen, and some shade variations. These look wonderful.
