Vintage linen and organdy placemat set, hand embroidered in Madeira, with large appliqué roses worked in soft blue and white. The design is lush and dimensional, set against sheer organdy with an oval linen center. Both placemats and napkins are finished in caseado bastido, an elaborately scalloped edging that signals the highest level of workmanship in Madeira embroidery. A striking and beautifully worked set.

Condition is excellent, gently used. Hand laundered, clean and bright. A few small frays at the edges, all minor. This set looks marvelous.
