Vintage linen and organdy placemat set, hand embroidered in Madeira, with large appliqué roses set on organdy, around an oval linen center. The design is lush and dimensional. Placemats and napkins are both finished in caseado bastido, an elaborately scalloped edging that marks the highest level of workmanship in Madeira embroidery. A striking and beautifully worked set.
Condition is excellent, gently used. Hand laundered, clean and bright. A few small frays at the edges, all minor. This set looks marvelous.
