Clam shells, starfish and lengths of seaweed, all hand embroidered in the exquisite French beauvais stitch. Amazing work on very fine linen – gorgeous textures and intricate detail. No labels, but assuredly made in France, likely vintage D Porthault.
Excellent condition, gently used. Hand laundered, clean and bright.
Setting for 8;8 placemats, 13 x 17 inches,
8 napkins, 15.5 x 16 inches (shells on four napkins, starfish on the other four).
