Part of our Rapisardi archive.
Southwest desert tableau—a Gila woodpecker perched on a desert tree, saguaro cactus nearby, and cactus wrens too. A highly unusual motif.
This is fine Italian hand embroidery on organdy. Given the quality and distinctive embroidery style, we suspect the maker may be Baroness Rapisardi, probably a special order (Rapisardi had connections in the American southwest).
Excellent condition, gently used. Hand laundered, bright and clean. We note a small hole at the edge of a napkin (last photo). Very minor—this set looks wonderful.
Setting for 8:
8 placemats, 11.5 x 17.5 inches;
8 napkins, 16 x 16 inches;
1 runner, 16 x 44 inches.
